Hlinsk Hermitage comes under fire

A monastery worker was injured in the attack.
On June 2, 2025, the Hlinsk Hermitage, located in the village of Sosnivka, Shostka District, came under Russian shelling, according to a Facebook post by Metropolitan Yevlogii of Sumy.
He reported that the strike was carried out using an FPV drone.
"A local resident born in 2003 was injured. He was working at the monastery. He was hospitalized in Hlukhiv with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to the chest," the metropolitan wrote.
The Nativity of the Theotokos Hlinsk Hermitage was founded in the early 16th century at the site where local beekeepers witnessed the miraculous appearance of an icon of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The monastery became renowned for its great elders, who were spiritual luminaries for the entire Orthodox Church.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC’s St. Nicholas Monastery in Myropol was also damaged by Russian shelling.
