UOC Primate officiates Liturgy at “Quick to Hearken” Icon Church in Kyiv

On May 30, 2025, the day commemorating Venerable Jonah of Odesa, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at the church complex dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hearken” in Kyiv. The event was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.
Metropolitan Onuphry was concelebrated by 18 hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and numerous clergy.
During the Liturgy, prayers were lifted up for peace in the Ukrainian land, deliverance from the enemy, and that the Lord might look with mercy upon the people – especially those in despair and those who have lost their homes. The Primate invoked God’s blessing upon people of goodwill who assist those in need. He also prayed for divine mercy upon the Ukrainian nation, wisdom for its authorities, courage for its soldiers, freedom for the captives, healing for the sick, and shelter for the displaced.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, on his 45th birthday and presented him with a festive prosphora. In response, Archbishop Sylvester offered words of gratitude to the Primate.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Onuphry had also led the Divine Liturgy at the Florivsky Monastery in Kyiv.
