Romanian Patriarch speaks at inauguration of new president of country

The Patriarch prayed for God's blessing for the president and all those who govern the country.
On May 26, 2025, President Nicușor Dan took the oath before the joint chambers of the Romanian Parliament. After the president took the oath, Patriarch Daniel offered a prayer for the protection of Romania and its people. This was reported by BASILICA.RO.
The new president of Romania took the oath, pledging to serve the people, uphold the Constitution, and defend the independence of the country, concluding his speech with the words: “May God help me!”
At the end of the ceremony, the Patriarch of Romania offered a prayer for Romania, its people, and national leaders. He asked God for mercy, wisdom, and justice for those who govern the country, and also called upon the Lord to bless the Romanian people and the Church.
It is noted that representatives of government institutions, the European Parliament, and diplomatic missions accredited in Romania also attended the ceremony.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a symposium dedicated to the anniversary of the Nicene Council opened in Romania.
