OCU cleric: Ukrainians are being “compelled to slaughter UOC priests”
Kosiachenko responded to a UOC hierarch’s interview about the activities of the State Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience Service (DESS).
Vasyl Kosiachenko, a "priest" of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), accused the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of allegedly driving Ukrainians to bloodshed. He made this statement in the comments under a Facebook post by the UOC’s press office regarding DESS inspections.
In response to an article in which Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn spoke to the media about the Church’s stance on DESS officials' checks, Kosiachenko wrote: “Onuphry’s UOC are sadomasochists.”
“You are pushing Ukrainians to bloody deeds. They will have no choice but to slaughter priests of Onufriy’s UOC,” he stated.
As previously reported by the UOJ, in his interview, Metropolitan Clement emphasized that “trying to find links to the Russian Federation in documents issued by the Russian Federation is a way of legitimizing the aggressor.”
Earlier, "priest" Vasyl Kosiachenko called on Ukrainian citizens to convert to Judaism, arguing that the nation’s top leaders express sympathy for that religion. According to the OCU cleric, Judaism could unite the country and defeat Russia.
