In Germany, a Protestant pastor holds a “Star Wars”-themed 'service'

The space-themed “service” was organized in an effort to attract younger visitors.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the church of Bensberg, located in the western German state of North Rhine–Westphalia, an Evangelical pastor marked the unofficial Star Wars Day with a galaxy-themed “service,” European Pravda reports, citing DPA.
The “service” featured atmospheric smoke, special lighting, and a replica of the Millennium Falcon spaceship. Pastor Samuel Dorr was “armed” with a lightsaber and wore a cloak resembling that of a Jedi knight. Some of the attendees also came dressed as characters from Star Wars.
It is noted that the space-themed “service” was organized as a way to attract younger visitors.
According to 82-year-old parishioner Helma Haider, the event surprised her and was “unlike ordinary services.”
As the UOJ previously reported, monks in Germany have stated that Orthodoxy in the EU stands in opposition to the dominion of the Antichrist.
