Zelensky tells the Vatican that imposing peace terms on Ukraine is unacceptable

The President met with Secretary of State Parolin at the Vatican.
On April 26, 2025, the day of Pope Francis' funeral, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, according to the Office of the President’s website.
The two sides discussed "the path toward a just and lasting peace" in Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized "the inadmissibility of imposing peace terms on a country that has been attacked." According to him, "Ukraine counts on the Holy See to continue playing an important role in uniting international efforts to achieve peace, facilitate the return of Ukrainian children illegally displaced and deported by Russia, and secure the release of prisoners."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Trump met with Zelensky at the Vatican prior to the funeral service for Pope Francis.
