U.S. establishes Task Force to combat anti-Christian bias
“Protecting Christians from bias means upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the constitutional promise,” said U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi.
On April 24, 2025, the United States officially launched a special task force dedicated to eradicating anti-Christian bias within government institutions. The creation of this task force was initiated by an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of Justice.
U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi delivered the keynote address at the group’s inaugural session. She stated that the task force will work to identify unlawful anti-Christian policies and practices in government agencies and to eliminate regulatory shortcomings that foster religious discrimination.
“the Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targetingpeaceful Christians while ignoring violent anti-Christian offenses,” Bondi said, citing President Trump.
The Attorney General emphasized that numerous violations were committed against Christians under the previous administration:
“Pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics the FBI spied on traditional Catholics in their parishes president Biden declared Easter Sunday to be Transgender Day of Visibility.”
According to Bondi, under President Trump’s orders, these abuses have already begun to be corrected. Three criminal cases against pro-life activists have been dropped, and the interpretation of the FACE Act (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) is being reviewed to ensure that “American tax dollars were not used to support the weaponization of our legal system to target Christians.”
“The First Amendment isn't just a line in the Constitution it's the cornerstone of our American liberty it guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely worship freely and live according to their conscience without government interference,” the Attorney General said.
Following her remarks, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche added, “Every individual has the freedom to choose their religious faith and once made that choice should never be subject to discrimination or bias from our government.”
As part of its mission, the task force will also examine data on crimes committed against Christians and Christian churches. According to statistics presented, church vandalism in the U.S. was eight times higher in 2023 than in 2018.
The task force includes representatives from various government agencies, along with individuals who have personally experienced anti-Christian bias and will share their stories to help uncover systemic issues.
