UOC shows destruction of Pokrovsk Vicariate headquarters following shelling
The roof and walls have been heavily damaged, and all windows shattered.
In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the main church and administrative building of the Pokrovsk Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were heavily damaged by shelling. This was reported on April 16, 2025, on the vicariate’s official Telegram channel.
Photos published show severe destruction to the Church of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr the Great and the vicariate’s headquarters – including a heavily damaged roof, broken walls, and all windows blown out. The entire surrounding area is littered with shrapnel.
As the UOJ previously reported, another UOC church in Pokrovsk – dedicated to St. John Chrysostom – was completely destroyed by shelling earlier.
