MP calls the expulsion of UOC from the cathedral in Volodymyr a "victory"

An MP believes the state must "evict Moscow priests as soon as possible" from the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr.
On March 11, 2025, the North-Western Court of Appeals in Rivne ruled to deny the appeal of the UOC Assumption community in Volodymyr against the Commercial Court's decision to return the cathedral building to the state, MP Ihor Huz announced on Facebook.
He called the court's decision a "victory", after which, in his words, "Moscow priests must be evicted from the Assumption Cathedral forever."
"This is an interim but very important victory. Next in line are the Zymne and Nyskynychi monasteries, which, unfortunately, still remain strongholds of the 'Russian world' in the Volodymyr region," Huz stated.
The Holy Assumption Cathedral is a national cultural heritage monument. The complex includes the cathedral itself, built in 1156, a bell tower from 1494, and walls with gates dating back to the 17th century.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC is contesting the court ruling on the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr.
