Ukraine loses about 350,000 people every year – State Statistics Committee
Nataliya Vlasenko stated that Ukraine is currently facing its worst birth rate situation, and the country’s population is rapidly declining.
Ukraine loses around 350,000 people each year. This was reported by Nataliya Vlasenko, adviser to the head of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, in the program Who Are We?, published on the Zorianyi YouTube channel.
The expert noted that birth rates are largely determined by the prevailing socio-economic conditions. The most favorable period for childbirth in Ukraine was from 2011 to 2014. Unfortunately, she said, the situation is now at its worst.
“Indeed, the population in Ukraine is shrinking. Every year we have been losing nearly 350,000 people due to natural decline – the number of deaths exceeds the number of children born,” said Vlasenko.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that one in five Ukrainian families has no children.
