Cleric of ROC: Church of Alexandria threatens those wishing to join the MP
The Alexandrian Patriarchate officially recognized the OCU on November 8, 2019.
The rector of the Life-Giving Trinity church on the Vorobyovy Hills in Moscow, Archpriest Andrei Novikov, said on his Facebook page that the Alexandrian Patriarchate threatens priests who do not recognize the OCU and wish to pass to the Moscow Patriarchate after the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“That's how fast it went. ‘Theology of love’ and ‘sacred Hellenism’ of the Alexandrian Patriarchate in action. Obviously, the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Church took the Alexandrians (more correctly, the Phanariots, since the Alexandrian Patriarchate is just a Phanar’s local branch) off guard. Tantrums and threats have already started today. The vicar of the Alexandrian Tanzanian Diocese, the Greek Bishop Agathonikos, urgently summoned several African priests who support canonical Orthodoxy and are now obviously passing under the omophorion of the Moscow Patriarch. As the fathers wrote to me, ‘he declared war on us.’ When asked to clarify, the fathers explained, ‘he threatened to kill us.’ It is clear that he cannot do this, he is just getting hysterical, and there is nothing more to threaten with. Salaries have long been canceled, churches belong to communities, no one cares about the bans of the Alexandrian bishops who entered into communion with the anathematized and self-ordained. All that remains is to shout melodramatically in hysterics, ‘We will kill you!’ Remember how we called Theodore of Alexandria – 'darling'. All this is a Phanariote theater for the barbarians. Moreover, it turns out Russians are not the only barbarians for them. Is there a theme for BLM here?” wrote Archpriest Andrei Novikov.
As the UOJ previously reported, at the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church that took place on September 23-24, it was decided to admit the clergy of the Alexandrian Church who did not recognize the OCU into the Russian Orthodox Church.
