The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine assures that the OCU received the Tomos "without external interference."
On January 6, 2021, the US Embassy in Ukraine congratulated the OCU on the anniversary of receiving the Tomos. A congratulatory message was posted on the institution’s Facebook page.
“Congratulations to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the second anniversary of receiving the Tomos of Autocephaly! We support Ukrainians' ability to worship as they choose, without external interference,” the message says.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that on January 3, 2021, the head of the US Department of State, Mike Pompeo, said that he ensured that the United States of America supported international recognition of the OCU.
