Media: SBI closes case against Poroshenko, opened at the request of UOC-KP
The State Bureau of Investigation reported the closure of "two or three" criminal cases in which Poroshenko was a possible participant in the crime.
One of the cases wrapped up by the General Bureau of Investigation of Criminal Proceedings is a case opened against former president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko upon application by the UOC-KP. This was reported in its Telegram channel by the publication "Strana", citing a GBR source.
"The case, initiated by the Kyiv Patriarchate that as a result of the actions of Poroshenko and the Minister of Culture during the establishment of the OCU, property, churches, money were confiscated from the Kyiv Patriarchate and registration was illegally canceled, has been dismissed," a source in the GBR told the publication.
We will remind, earlier the SBI reported about closing of criminal proceedings which Petro Poroshenko publicly called the “Tomos case”, but actually it concerned liquidation of the UOC-KP. The UOC-KP Legal Department, which initiated a total of 21 lawsuits to "protect the rights and freedoms of conscience of the Kyiv Patriarchate and its property," said it would challenge the SBI ruling in court.
