The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Reserve said the Assumption and Refectory churches will soon be opened to visitors, but the MinCult will define the order of services there.

Soon, the Assumption Cathedral and the Refectory Church, located on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, will reopen to visitors, however, worship in them will be under the control of the Ministry of Culture. This was told by the Deputy Director of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Kostiantyn Krainy, reports suspilne.

According to Krainy, now the monks of the Lavra are “taking away some of their belongings” from the temples.

The deputy director of the reserve also noted that religious communities can now apply for worship in the temples of the Lavra, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy will decide whether or not to approve this application.

As the UOJ reported, Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko said that according to the laws of Ukraine, the state cannot transfer its property for long-term use to religious organizations free of charge.
