Avdeyevka churches of UOC being restored after shelling

The head of the Department for Humanitarian Assistance of the Synodal Department of the UOC for social and humanitarian issues, priest Pavel Kuznetsov spoke about the repair works.
"Because of the shelling in the church of St. Mary Magdalene windows were repeatedly broken, the facade and a utility room were damaged. The brigade of workers glazed the building, repaired a sewage system, installed boilers and a generator, partially renovated the facade and cleaned up the back room of the church.
As the result of the damaged heating system of St. Michael’s Church, the parishioners froze during the service. The church was equipped with 20 radiators, which will restore the thermal regime in the room and make it possible to pray in comfortable conditions.
St. Nicholas’ Church was assisted with a chainsaw to make firewood for the heating boiler," he explained.
Archpriest of the Avdeyevka district and rector of St Mary Magdalene’s Church Andrei Karpets said that "thanks to such manifestations of compassion, attention and care, people do not lose hope and faith in human kindness and compassion."
Restoration work was carried out by the construction and repair team of 6 people. The clergy and people of the town of Avdeyevka expressed sincere gratitude to the company management for their charitable aid.
