Foreigners will solve their problems first and think about ours last, – Primate of the Greek Church
Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens led the festivities on the commemoration day of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous in Corfu Island and called on the Greek faithful to consolidate in the face of trials. It is reported by Аgionoros.

The Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church called on the Greek to get united in the face of trials and warned the situation in the country would be deteriorating even more: “Let us not relax, because we are going to confront with more difficulties. Foreigners will solve their problems in the first line, and think about ours at the end of the line,” underscored the Primate.

The Archbishop recalled the events of the Greek national liberation uprising of 1821, when European states refused to help the Greek and the latter were compelled to raise funds in order to continue their fight on their own, having mobilized all internal reserves.

“Let’s pray for the Church to be single and strong,” went on the Primate of the Greek Church. – “Today there are quite a lot of Church persecutors. Yet let’s remember that among those, who threw stones at the first martyr Stephan, were also Saul, future apostle Paul. Who knows who many today’s Sauls are to become future Pauls? How many persecutors will realize their mispersuasions?”

As the UOJ reported earlier, Saint Spyridon of Trimythous was prayerfully commemorated in Kerkyra.
