Finnish Orthodox Church held environmental forum in Helsinki

In Finland, the Finnish Orthodox Autocephalous Church initiated and held the first symposium dedicated to the world environmental problems and their solutions, reports Blagovest-Info.

The symposium, called "Sophia", was attended by many of the leading experts in the field of ecology, representatives of the public and the Church. In their speeches, the forum participants noted that the inhabitants of the planet face a number of critical environmental problems whose solution requires joint efforts. In dealing with these problems the Church is called to play an important role.

Forum participants expressed hope that the event will become annual and noted that it was a good example of productive interaction of the science world with representatives of the Church.
