Orthodox youth maintains graves at the Russian cemetery near Paris
Members of the Orthodox youth organization "Korsun" put in order dozens of graves at the Russian cemetery in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois. This is reported on the website of the Diocese of Korsun.
The volunteers organized the first action of this kind on the Trinity Parent’s Sabbath. They agreed to repeat the event in the future, including, on the days of commemoration of the dead.
Requiem in the Cathedral Church of the Three Saints was celebrated by Bishop Nestor of Korsun. The cemetery in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois became the burial place for many Russian emigrants after the 1917 revolution.
Recall that the cemetery is considered mostly Russian and Orthodox, although there are graves of representatives of other denominations and nationalities. Here lie Ivan Bunin, Viktor Nekrasov, Dmitry Merezhkovsky, Zinaida Gippius, Rudolf Nureyev, Alexander Galich, Andrei Tarkovsky, Peter Struve, Konstantin Korovin and others.
