Exhibition-auction of pictures by children with cancer takes place in UOC church
May 28, Kiev, an art exhibition and sales of paintings by children with cancer takes place at St. Theodore Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports UNIAN.
"The main objective of this exhibition is to draw public attention to the problem of children's oncology," said rector Archpriest Peter Semaschuk at the opening of the exhibition.
Also at the opening of the exhibition, which counts about 70 works by patients of pediatric oncohematology department of Kyiv regional clinical hospital, a charity concert was held.
The money raised from the sales of the paintings will go to the purchase of medicines and medical equipment. According to the rector, buying children's paintings, we fulfill the commandment to love one's neighbor. Besides, we pay special attention to the sick children, which are in particular need of it. As noted, children draw at the lessons of art therapy done by volunteers.
The exhibition is dedicated to the church patron saint’s day and the International Children's Day and will run for one month at the following address: 7 Ovruchska Str.
